Korean War Era Veterans & Former Prisoners of War
This year we will be once again hosted our 13th Annual Korean War Veterans and POW/MIA Remembrance Day. The Korean War still remains to be on of the most unrecognized war of the 20th century yet 36,516 Americans gave their lives. 92,134 American soldiers were wounded and 7,245 were interned as Prisoners of War. Still to this day the final fate of over 8,000 G.I.'s remains unknown.
Since World War One, the fates of over 91,000 American Soldiers still remains unknown. During the event we also took time to honor our Prisoners of War and our Missing In Action. Several of our volunteers took time to honor our POWs and MIAs by presneting the POW / MIA display. This was a very moving event as representatives from the Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and the Army all presented the pieces which make up the POW / MIA display. Lee Grimes presented the meaning behind each piece.
